Thanks to our plastic injection molding design office situated in the heart of our factory in China, we offer advanced expertise for all studies upstream of your production projects. Each project goes through our design office. The proximity of the latter provides immediate and permanent collaboration with our production workshops. Facilitated project monitoring as this also allows us to go efficiently from initial prototypes to series production. 

Our team of experts is comprised of 10CAD designers (Computed Aided Design), 4 CAD/CAM designers (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing), 4 project heads . We work with the latest generation of 3D modeling software (Autocad, Unigrafics, Catia, Solidworks).

Injection mold design is one of most important parts of a success mold making project, we currently have 18 great Chinese mold designers with more than 10 years design experiences. For each of mold project, we will call out an internal kick-out meeting to decide the part layout, runner design, gating way, ejection method, cooling layout, etc. These would allow us to always design your mold with all of our Intelligence resources instead of just by a single mold designer. We offer a unique perspective in plastic injection mold and product design. Having decades of injection mold design experience allows us to incorporate the “moldability” factor into our product designs and evaluations.

SEVEN SYSTEMS OF INJECTION MOLD

  • Gating System:Runner,Sprue,Gate, Cold Slug Well
  • Guidance System:When the mold is closing, it is required that the mold can return to its original position. 
  • Molding System: A closed space that consists of the core, cavity, and inserts, etc.
  • Ejection System:The ejector of the injection machine applies force on the press plate of the mold, which drives the ejector pins, ejector blocks, and lifters, etc.
  • Cooling System:To achieve a better cooling effect, one or more groups of cooling channels will be designed for the mold.

Venting system: A structure that allows the air in the cavity and the gating system to escape in time, and punctually involves air during mold opening and plastic product release

FROM DESIGN TO INDUSTRIALIZATION

PART OPTIMIZATION AND CAD

Our design office intervenes directly on the analysis and optimization of parts for injection.  It is able to perform minor modifications on the 3D designs of parts (clearances, ribs, thicknesses, etc.)

RHEOLOGICAL STUDY

Design for Manufacture (DFM)

Mold Flow Analysis Design for Manufacture is a helpful tool that we can provide to our customers to help minimise tooling costs and to help expedite the manufacturing process.We will provide you with a detailed report that contains important information about your part design and highlights any potential problem areas.In addressing design issues early on, the DFM helps to eliminate costly re-tooling or delays in the manufacturing process caused by a problematic part design.

We also have the ability to provide mould flow analysis, which,can save you money and ensure production in a timely manner. when combined with the DFM.

PRODUCT DESIGN GUIDE

1Product design guide

Bosses find use in many part designs as points for attachment and assembly. The most common variety consists of cylindrical projections with holes designed to receive screws, threaded inserts, or other types of fastening hardware. Generally, the outside diameter of bosses should remain within 2.0 to 2.4 times the outside diameter of the screw or insert

It is suggested avoiding bosses that merge into sidewalls because they can form thick sections that lead to sink. Proper bosses should be positioned away from the sidewall, and if needed, use connecting ribs for support. Try using open boss designs for bosses near a standing wall.

Product design guide

Normally, the boss hole should extend to the base-wall level, even if the full depth is not needed for assembly. Shallower holes can leave thick sections, resulting in sink. Deeper holes reduce the base wall thickness, leading to filling problems, knit lines, or surface blemishes. Because of the required draft, tall bosses (those greater than five times their outside diameter) can create a filling problem at their top or a thick section at their base.

We take possible problems into consideration started from design that cover two stages.

1. Plastic parts structure design stage:

a. Wall thickness: too thin or too thick? Is it even designed?
b. Undercut: any chance to remove undercut? If not, the undercut is easy making, repair and durable?
c. Tolerance: is it fit needs?
d. Mold draft: how many degree is fit? Does it effect parts function?
e. Deep but thin blind hole: It is broken often. Any chance to remove? How can we make it easy to be replaced in customer’s workshop?
f. Plastic material: Is it fit function?

2. Plastic mold design stage:

a. Gate: does it effect appearance whether customer can accept? Enough for material flow? Hot runner is necessary?
b. Ejection: where to put? Is it enough? Can run mold automatically?
c. Machine: sprue bushing, location ring, mounting space.

In case some problems are not sure at design stage, we can leave this problem after mold test, but it is left space for easy mold revision in future. For example as  shrinkage mark, we will make as insert that can be changed easily, if shrinkage mark is too obvious and out of expectation.
